Cancellation of the Interim Meeting in Casablanca

Dear friends and respected academicians.

We regret to inform you that the WANS interim meeting in Casablanca for June 2025 is cancelled. This professional decision was unanimously reached by the WANS-EC members due to tardy response, lack of proper communication and assumed preparation for the event, coupled with meager interest and dismal confirmations to attend by the majority of the members.

A potential new site and dates will be proposed shortly in collaboration with one of the international meetings in 2025. Looking forward to your proactive support and commitment to the WANS mission and academic endeavors.

Voting for New WANS Active Members

Dear respected academicians. On behalf of my colleagues in the Executive Committee, we kindly invite you to submit your thoughtful, confidential online votes on the WANS website to select the new WANS active members (no WhatsApp or email votes are accepted).

All potential nominees already have a vacancy for their country, completed their documents and were reviewed by the membership committee. Election requires 80% of the members or 80% of the voters, with a minimum of 60 voters. Voting dates: September 1st – December 26th, 2024. The nominees and their CVs are listed under the “Polls” heading.

Clarification — Attendance & Membership Status

Dear respected active members of the WANS. We are pleased and blessed to have your inspiring active presence and future dynamic academic commitment to the mission of the WANS' assembly.

Unfortunately, a few active members failed to attend the past several WANS conferences in a row with no valid excuse. Therefore, the Executive Committee unanimously decided to implement the existing WANS bylaws (Article VIII, Section 2-A) regarding suspension of non-compliant active members. This provides an opportunity for other talented candidates from these countries to join the Academy. Highly respected senior members may remain as active senior members or move to the dormant retired senior class.

Note: a suspended active member may reapply once a vacancy exists, subject to the standard competitive voting system.
